A wet room is a fully waterproofed bathroom where the shower area is open and level with the rest of the floor, rather than contained in a separate shower tray or cubicle. The entire room is tanked (sealed with a waterproof membrane) and the floor is graded to direct water towards a drain.
Wet rooms are popular for their contemporary look, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, easier cleaning, and the impression of more space in smaller bathrooms.
